gas boiler mis-sale by british gas.

My new boiler should have had £400.00 taken off the price according to british gas advertiding, the rep. gave me a load of waffle & told me it was not off my new boiler, I am not happy about this at all. Has anyone else experianced this & what can be done about it. I value your views.

    We really need more details.

Presumably you paid up front, why did you not question it before you signed on the dotted line.

But off what price? BG typically quote 40% more than an independent GSR RGI anyway, so a '£400 off' offer is meaningless marketing drivel.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Discount is applied at point of sale,if that was before the offer came up then you missed it, If you haven't had the installation yet then cancel if you don't get the discount and see what they can do.

Don't want to nitpick macman but unless there is a standard price for all 'independent GSR RGI's' then this point is also meaningless drivel ;)

My point was that BG permanently overprice, so they can then permanently advertise these amazing discounts.
Basically the same trick as the average double glazing company.

It's actually slightly different to that. Bg quote in 'packs' for all the required components of the installation to give a price for the job so it can't be raised 400 to drop 400. The 400 off is genuinely what it says, not saying it will make them cheaper than polska gaski but thats why you get quotes.

OP needs provide more info, if a final price was quoted including a £400 discount, then why would they pay more?
