Claim PPI bit complicated

Hi there,
A few years ago my husband and I purchased a sofa from DFS for which we got PPI. At the time we had not long returned to live in the UK and neither of us had any credit history in the UK so they saleman suggested perhaps a family member could help. My Sister-in-Law agreed to put the credit agreement in her name, with the direct debit to come out of our bank account. We were told that with the PPI we would be protected if my husband lost his job, but this would not have been the case if the agreement was in my sister-in-law's name??
My question is this. Can we claim this back even though the agreement was not in our name, but we were paying for the credit?
Thanks for reading and if anyone can help that would be great.

Sister in law was covered. Can we claim this back even though the agreement was not in our name, but we were paying for the credit?
No. Your sister in law can complain if she feels she has grounds for complaint. She would also receive the redress payment. What she does with it is up to her. So, you need to discuss this with her.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
