The road was dug up and now my house shakes

  • Many thanks fo all you replies, they have all been very useful.
    I have just emailed the County Council stating as they gave the go ahead for the works, it is their responsibility to ensure the road is re surfaced back to its original state prior to the works...and the house didnt shake before the works were done.
    The fixings that hold my wardrobe to the wall are now coming out, so its getting more worrying by the day.

    As suggested above, i will start to take photos.

    I am a bit worried about contacting my insurance company in case they refuse to insure me in the future?

    Don't email the Council send them a recorded delivery letter

    Unfortunately, that was my experience. They did insure me, but at more than double the rate. No other company would take me on.

    My advice would be to only contact your insurers when you are 100% sure that you have a problem that they can help with.
