i,m currently with Atlantic on the standard online no standing charge tarriff. as anyone else recently joined up with them? if so what tarriff did you go on, just wondered if there are any hidden tarriffs out there, as on their website they have only got the standard tarrifs showing, cant see any show up on comparison sites, apart from a few SSE ones, hoping to stay with Atlantic brand but just hopefully get a slighltly better deal,

if you stick to atlantic then all thats available are the domestic standard and domestic no standing charge options. you would really have to think about one of the other branded SSE brands ie soutern electric (depending on where you stay) to get a wider choice. what i would say is that if you are getting the atlantic loyalty discount ie 13 mth direct debit refunded then were you to move to say southern electric, you would lose the 13 mth discount but have the 6% monthly direct debit discount applied to each of your gas and elctricity bills on quarterly or 6 mthly billing. so what i think you should do is work out your usage on current tariffs taking into account your 13 mth rebate and workingout usage based on say 6% direct debit off each annual gas and electric bill, obviously comparing unit prices and then see whats best for you.0

just had a play around on a few comparison sites and noticed atlantic have a fixed price 3 and 4 tarriff, the fixed 4 tarriff works out as 20p 11p and 5p whereas my tarriff at mo is 21p 14p 5.4ish so on paper the fixed price 4 is cheaper unit wise, however as you said i would lose my 13th month rebate,
ive just emailed them now to get a answer regarding that, i know i probably lose the rebate, but theres no harm in asking just to make sure, will wait n see what they say.i think if i did switch i would prob save over the year even without the 13th month rebate. will wait and see with the reply see how it goes tho0 -
Just checked earlier and it appears the atlantic fixed price deals were both withdrawn for new customers by the middle of last year so it appears thats whats on the atlantic website at the moment is all that is on offer0

Take a look at EBIco web site.
No standing charge,no meter charge.
One rate for all.
In Yorkshire area 14.333p inc VAT for electricity and 4.788p per Kwh for gas.
If you have your energy statement for the year that the best way to fine the best deal for your home.
Take the total Kwh use andwork it out.
eg-- For Gas
With N Power on line 23 I would have paid 365 days at 32.5p + 2200kwh at 3.092 total £186.67 then plus 5% vat.
With EBIco same price for all I will pay 2200Kwh at 4.788p= £105.36 this inc VAT
So n power can give me my own money back have a interest free loan from me for a year.
If any energy company asks you what do you pay each month and then says well we can beat that, do not use them.
You can not work out anyone’s best deal with out the energy statement.0 -
Agree with homebased. Ive heard so many customers say to me theyve gone to x supplier and when they joined initially they were set up with direct debits of say 40 quid a month and a few months later they suddenly get a bill saying theyre direct debits are shooting up and they got a massive bill. at that point they cant leave unless theyve got a good few quid lying around. all i would say is if your using the comparison sites dont go by monthly costs, compare using annual usage and check the small print. if its too good to be true then it will be!!!!0

yeah know what u mean, anyone just paying £40 a month are just asking for trouble, unless of course they use very little energy, if they do that, increase it to a more sensible direct debit, it will cut the chances of huge increases later0
