With reference to the AA taking you to buy your own battery, while they may do that in some cases, they also supply their own batteries. And if they do take you to buy your own, you can find the outlets they use do have a mark up compared to other places, with a referral fee paid back to the AA.
It would be fairer to ask a local garage what they would charge to supply and fit a battery for your car (of the sane type) to get a better idea as to how reasonable the RAC cost is though.0 -
