I posted similar a while ago and goot some good responses. My son was on £15 then and is now about to turn 12 and will get £20, for that he is expected to help around the house with set jobs and extras. He also has to replace anything he loses so for my son that eats into a lot of his money as he is so careless - but it's a lesson he has to learn. This month he is getting nothing because he has lost phone and door key, last month it was PE trousers that he had worn once that set him back £6, it's an expensve lesson!.

Edit : just reread my post - I meant per month not per week!
  • My 9 yr old gets £2/wk and only if he goes to school everyday, finishes his homework and keeps his room tidy (he struggles with school). TBH he never really spends it, but it's there if there is ever something he really wants like a new lego set, or a treat to the cinema (I buy the tickets, he gets his own sweets lol).

TBH if she soesn't want the money I would be tempted to put it away in a savings account for her.

My 12 yr old can earn up to £12 a month, with a base rate of £6 and set jobs that add up to £6 over the month, I do the same thing for my 14 and 16 yr olds too, they can earn their age and they use it for presents, makeup etc.
It works well and teaches them to save for things they really want.
