You are partly right on this,if you have mental issues,you will have a discussion and be asked questions,no physical examination will take place.

If you have physical problems,or a combination of both, there are things you are asked to try to do and there is a type of examination,depending on your type of illness or disability. You will also be asked questions and be observed during your time with the doctor.

Sounds as though there is no quick fix. She will need to appeal and hope she can manage until they realise the mistake.

good luck, I lost an appeal and had to go back to jobseekers, they then asked me at 3 months why I hadnt been looking for work and I said because I am not fit for work, they then got me back on IB. The whole process was extremely stressful as I was claiming JSA knowing I wasnt looking for work bt it was the only I could get some income.
