National Express Senior Coachcard

Has anyone purchased one of these coachcards to get one third off coach travel.

Does the card have your name printed on it and the date of issue.

    Yes, it does.

Otherwise anyone could use it, forever.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • Yes it does
  • We recently purchased two senior cards at the end of February for occasional travel to London, aware that we could not use them when travelling to airports. On 11th March we purchased return tickets to Stansted airport at a non-discounted rate. However today we received a letter from National Express to say that they had changed their minds and that discounted travel to airports is now available "from March".

I have written to ask if they would now be prepared to issue a voucher/discount code to those who have 'missed out' and who wish to make further bookings during the life of the card. I will post should I receive a positive response.

As the company recommends early booking it occurs to me that there will be seniors who have booked very early for summer holidays at the normal adult price.

I`ve delayed getting a couple of cards for my relatives who need to travel in July.
Last year NE coaches had a special offer of £9 each way anywhere.
    This may be repeated again.
Obviously if you need to be certain of getting a seat at a certain time then the coachcard is the way to go.

I purchased one of these cards but as yet have only received approximately 10% off the standard fare on the 4 journeys I used it on and not the 33% savings National Express claim you can save by using this card..

    Welcome to the boards.

Here from NE site is the T&C for the SENIOR coachcard which clearly states one third off all adult standard fares.

    Senior Coachcard Terms & Conditions
    1. Card entitles you to 1/3 off 'adult standard fares' on National Express coaches.
    2. Discounted tickets are available at any time, every day.
    3. Discounted tickets can be purchased online, by phone and at any National Express outlet or ticket machine.
    4. Please show the Driver your Coachcard when boarding. You may be asked for proof of age (60+).
    5. Maximum of four Coachcards can be used per booking.

So if you're 60 or over, for just £10 you can get 1/3 off your travel all year round.
