Don't take out a payday loan without first reading our Payday Loans guide.
----
I know that most people will tell me i'm mad for looking into a Payday loan, but i am in a bind.
Had some major tax problems with my wage and ended up £600 short, which i am assured will be sorted next month (Rebate).
So as a result, i am looking for some cash to tide me over, pay bills etc..... Previously had bad credit problems, which are now sorted, debts cleared etc, but the Credit Rating is still pretty poor, but i am now in £0 debt, and paid well.
Problem is i heard many Payday Loan companys can charge fees, or be a complete con, and take brokers fees without getting a loan.
So i guess i'm asking (without the smart answers) where are the best / easiest places to get a Payday Loan without being conned!

Don't trust the taxman. If I thought this would all resolve itself I would make some suggestions. I've had far too many hiccups with that incompetant department in my time, take their word with a pinch of salt.
For that reason, dont look at loans. Ask family to help you out AND cut back your outgoings to nothing, beans on toast from now on.0 -
Yep with Apples on this... look at how many posts are on this board (seems it's nothing but PDL's) about people who have taken out a payday loan and can't pay them back because something they were expecting to come in hasn't.
Sell some stuff on ebay, ask a friend or family member to tide you over, work out exactly how much you need to pay for bills and fuel and yep beans on toast is your lot for this month and then next month if your rebate comes in you can pay your friend back and treat them to a pint (or chocolate) as a thanksxxx

Robbery is a good solution to your problem, be sure to wear a mask or a pair of pants on your head or something.
But seriously, avoid payday loans unless you enjoy misery."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
Payday loans are to be avoided. If no pre-arranged overdraft, then try an advance from your employer."Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0

Your company screwed this up - surely they should be willing to sort something out.0

Not intended as a smart answer, but if you can avoid it at all, try to steer clear of them. People's hostility towards PDLs is largely justified. Talk to your bills, landlord (or lender), etc. and see if you can come to some kind of amicable agreement of deferred payment.
However, if you do decide to go for a PDL, avoid fees like the plague, as they're a sure fire sign of a con.
There are a lot of legit (but in other ways awful) high street companies - pawnbrokers and so on, where you won't get conned (as such).======================================

I'm with Bravehearted here. If they won't/can't help can you get an overdraft from the bank to tide you over?

In my honest opinion Payday loans do have their place in the market, Which is to cover a financial short fall, And not to be used as a long term financial solution. I'd much rather receive a payday loan then go into an unarranged overdraft with my bank and receive various charges on a daily basis, Thus ruining my account conduct with the bank.
Think it through carefully, I've only ever used one Payday loan company for one loan and that was a long time ago, But I KNEW I would have enough to cover the payment on the due date regardless what happened.
As long as you are 100% sure you can make the payment, Then go for it.
Payday UK are the company I used, Quick Approval and they where upfront about their fee's before I had reached the application form, And on £100 I was only charged £25ish so an interest rate of 25% which isn't to bad, But I knew for certain that I could make the payment at the end of the month REGARDLESS what happened, Regardless if my dog ate my Debit Card, Or I magically lost it before the due date (Like many on these forums do).0 -
Lol so you want to take a loan on the hunch/hope that the rebate will come through next month to then pay off the PDL, good idea as it seems but your relying on the tax man to get it sorted within a month. What would you do if it too 2 months or 3,4 to get the rebate.0
