SAR or Policy T&Cs??

I took out a loan in 1998/99 with a company called Beneficial Finance if anyone remembers them! Well I was actually bullied into a loan actually, come to think of it. We had purchased a couple of electrical items from Currys on a 6 month interest free option then the month that was due to end the manger of the local branch of the finance company rang us up offering to re-finance the remainder of the money owed and as it was December with Christmas coming we thought we'd go ahead with it and made an appointment to go see him, as he said it had to be signed for in branch.
Well, when we got there the next day he had a print out of both mine and my partners credit profile with approximate balances, which only mounted to about £6000 at the time, and then told us we could have a loan for the full amount.
Both my partner and I where both 19 at the time, had recently moved into our house together, had a 6 month old baby, I wasn't working, OH was only on an apprenticeship earning about £750 a month back then, so we thought this was a good deal, and being the first time either of us had taken a loan, where innocent and knew no better. (other debt was from CC's and catalogues)
He told us to have the loan because of OH's apprenticeship we had to also take the PPI.

I remember the loan was over 7 years and the amount for PPI being around £7000

I did keep the paperwork up until last year, then had a clear out and shredded (along with others) them, can I still get a copy of this agreement from the companies I have had finance with, and if I can what letter do I send to request it?

Thanks all
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice!!
