Boots `over 60s advantage card` - WARNING!

I have had a Boots Advantage Card which if you are over 60 you get an extra 10% I believe, discount on Boots products.
I have used this for a few years now and not given it much thought.
However, I bought quite a bit of stuff in there today and after looking at my bill discovered the discount hadn't been taken off. I went back and queried it and she told me, it had indeed been wiped off. She reinstated the `discount` for me and it is now working properly.
My advice would be make sure this doesn't happen to you. How long this has gone on, I have no idea and why it should happen I don't know.
Is it some crafty thing Boots are doing hoping you won't notice, well it worked up to a point.

I'm sure that it was just a computer glitch as they have nothing to gain (or indeed lose) by surreptitiously removing discounts in the hope of gaining a few extra quid
It may be worth contacting Boots HQ to let them know about the problem and to see if they can track your recent purchases using your advantage card in order to get the difference against what you would have paid credited back to your card in points.0 -

Well done you I never thought of that, I may well do.

I took your advice and emailed Boots and they have come back and indeed added another 500 points to my card.
Thanks again for the suggestion0 -
Oooh, didn't know about this so glad to have seen this post. My mum has just turned 60 and shops in Boots loads so will be pleased to know she gets 10% discount!0

Yes, it is only on Boots own products, but still saves me a fair bit. However, if you buy things, using your points, they no longer give you the discount.
They used to, but this facility disappeared about a year or so ago. So, if you have a Health Club card, remember not to buy Boots products, using your points. Save them for another brand, and then you'll save 10% cash discount on your Boots purchases.
