  • Esa in the assessment phase is £65 ish - the same as JSA. It goes up to £102 if you are placed in the support group, slightly less for the other group

    Not the couples, over-18 rate.
  • I stand corrected
    xx
  • As said before Homestart...i have them they are great! A support worker from a childrens centre can be a great help with charities etc and sorting out the funding for a 2yr old placement. I am in a very similar situation at the min. Feel free to pm me if you like. Its not an easy position. I'd be getting onto the doctor about finding out whats wrong. I have SLE and turns out i most likely have had it for a long time. Only got diagnosed last year but the relief to put a name to it is unbelievable. Do you have a support system at all? Family etc? I have no-one and neither does my OH. But thanks to support worker, childrens centre, HV, GP, Homestart and partner....im doing better x Hope your sorted soon xxx
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

The pride my children told me they had in me was even better!!!!! # setting positive example to children is OUTSTANDING!!!! !:grouphug::grouphug::smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea:smileyhea
  • Thanks very much for all the replies i am a little confused as i don't understand the ESA, i assumed after looking through the various benefits that i would be able to apply for DLA and my DH would be able to apply for Carers allowance and income support
Perhaps i have been more concerned over my childrens needs than my own and failed to mention the care that i need from my DH.
He has taken over all of the cooking, washing, housework, childcare-I can't get out of bed most days until lunchtime. Bad days not at all. I am unable to leave the house alone or be left alone incase i pass out or have a funny turn.

Would i be the one who has to claim the ESA?

I can't imagine how i would be assesed as these atacks are random. Unfortunatly whilst i have all this to worry about the doctors seem to have given up on me and stated they don't know whats wrong with me! So i can't even get a diagnosis-at least with a name to put to my symtoms i might have an idea of what the future will bring.

You wont get DLA because you cant do the washing, housework, child care or for having a lie in, its for care and mobility needs only so thats what is important when you apply after 3 months of problems, some people dont get the award they should have got because they put all the problems they have with daily living instead of the relevant details needed to secure the correct award.

Many people never get a diagnosis for their problems, its nice to have a name to it but it isnt relevant for sickness/disability benefits.

    hth.
  • If you claim DLA and get middle rate care component you will be classed as incapacitated for childcare purposes and can therefore claim for childcare whilst your partner is at work. In the mean time speak to social services.

Actually not being able to do simple house hold tasks such as laundary, cook etc are classed as care needs!

OP - if you need info on how to fill in a DLA claim inbox me and I will e-mail you the benefits and work full guide free of charge.

Your wrong again, you are wrong in most of your posts and I find the claims in your signature very dubious and I have reported them as you obviously dont have a clue about anything and also such claims in your sig. are against the site rules.

OP, ask at the CAB etc. for help and refuse it from random people on websites who post lies on the web like mazza.

Oh and any real support worker involved with benefits advice wouldnt need the cheat sheets from a website for fripples.

That's a bit harsh isn't it? If she can't get out of bed, that's mobility.... If she can't wash, cook and clean, that's care.
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.
