Looking for some advice on offer letter received?

I claimed a PPI refund on a loan with HBOS it was a very small loan of just £1K but I remember taking out the insurance policy as I used it when I was off work due to pregnancy related illness. But I was advised I could try and claim back and argue that I should have paid the insurance and the loan on seperate payments and so I thought I had nothing to lose and went ahead and made a complaint.
I have received a letter through today and they are willing to make me an offer:
Refund of Premiums £69.30
Refund of Interest £9.42
Interest at 8% £34.67
Totalling £113.39 but then they are taking away £101.22 that they paid when I was off sick so I am entitled to a whole £12.17?
Is this the normal procedure?
Thanks in advance for any advice and help.
