New gas and electricity supplier?
Hi,
Some help needed! I'm moving into a new flat at the end of the month and was wondering who people would recommend I use for my gas and electricity?
The best deal I've found so far was with NPower, GoFix10. And if I go through a cashback website I can get £40 or so back.
Any advice would be great, as I'm new to all this!
Thanks in advance

Npower rates are good but with conditions. Are you moving in as a tenant or an owner. Personally I'd add the deferred discount onto the annual price and compare it to the next few in the list. It's a deferred discount if you are given notice to leave after 6 months or 18 months or at any point which isn't just after your 12 months anniversary date you will then lose the potential £120 or so annual discount.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You will be in a deemed contract with the existing suppliers, so make sure that you take meter readings and register with them on day one. Once you have an account set up, you can commence a switch if you wish, which will take 4-5 weeks. Use a comp site with your estimated annual kWh consumption, if you haven't already done so.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Take a look at this Firm EBIco they are a not for profit energy supplier.I have just change from n power they take the money from you over the year and then give it you back.Heads they win and if you cancel before the year is over they keep it all and charge you approx £20 per fuel.0

Thanks for your help.
I am only going to be a tenant and I've signed on for a 6 month contract so far (hopefully longer). I've already got in touch with the existing supplier and said that we are moving in, so will give them the meter reading and then switch to a new one.
We're in our early 20s and both professionals so saving money is our number one priority (hence why I'm here!)0
