Spell Checker in word not working

I wonder if anyone can help. The spellchecker in Word (2002) isn't working.
There are blatent errors and it isn't spotting them. It also isn't underlining in red and green for errors in spelling and grammer. In the past I've had an error messge along the lines of "can't find spelling file for Czech" (no idea why)
It seems as if the spelling files are missing. The PC came with the software loaded on so I have no discs to go back to.
Any help would be much appreciated

PS I've checked that the language is set to English UK)

Sorry, silly question:
Is it actually switched on?
In word, go to tools > options > spelling and grammar and make sure the relevant options are checked.
If this doesn't work it could be a problem with your dictionary files0 -
As Nicolai said.
Also "Czech" that the correct dictionary is being used. tools > options > spelling and grammar and click the dictionary button.0 -

thanks so much - it was the box which said use only main dictionary which wasn't checked. It's great to have it working !
Cheers to both of you for your help
