I booked a return ticket but got only £5 discount, guess, it is better than nothing. Are there any restrictions regarding hand luggage apart from the usual, can you now take toileteries and drink in your hand luggage. Thanks

No liquids larger than 100ml are allowed through security. You can buy larger quantities of drinks to take on board once you are "airside". If you go to the particular airport's website they should give more information.
