Calling All Bread Makers

Thanks Mrs Happy, I'll try oiling the paddle spindle.

The breadmaker is a Prima, bought at Sainsbury's in January Sales.

Always have soaked it but does not help much with the cleaning, and some of the non-stick lining has come of now, as we have to lever the loaves out of the tin with (non-scratch) fish slice. So I've taken to scrubbing it gently, after all it can't stick much worse than it already is.

Any hints on mixtures that are less sticky would be helpful, though.
I suppose there is no point on oiling or flouring the tin as it would get absorbed in the kneading process, or is there?
  • be careful none of the lining flakes off in the bread mix
    could be toxic
  • I would think that once the lining is damaged it will stick more!!!!Some makes you can buy a replacement tin, but maybe not worth the expense. I would like to buy a really good make like the panasonic but I have got so use to the tin shape of the Delta make, so find it hard to change.
    My basic White Mix is
    12oz water in 1st then
    1lb 2oz strong white flour
    1 teasp of sea/rock salt
    1-2tablesp of dried milk powder
    1 tablesp of sugar
1oz of butter/olive oil or simular
each of the above four in each corners
and 1 teasp in the centre of fast acting dried yeast
    Has always turned really tasty

Make sure you leave the loaf in the tin for 10-15 mins after cooking...but take the tin out of the breadmaker. that should make it easier. I made the mistake at first of trying to get it out immediately

This works, thanks Vivw! Left the bread in the tin for 20 min+ yesterday and it came out much easier. :j

Will try Mrs Happy's mixture next time ...
