Calling All Bread Makers

Hovis bread flour is BOGOF in Morrisons until 11th March 2007

Seeded/Granary bread flour is £1.09 for 1Kg and Wholemeal 92p for 1.5Kg. Sorry, can't remember the prices for white and brown.

Morrisons also doing BOGOF on Bero/McDougalls bread flour (83p) until 25th Feb.
Anyone else noticed that Sainsburys have put up the price of Carr's from 79p to 99p recently? Same price in Tesco's, but Asda are selling it for 78p.

Just treated ourselves to half-prize automatic breadmaker in January. Enjoying the taste and smell of fresh bread. Will stock up with flour and yeast, thank you!

One little problem we have is getting the loaf out of the so-called non-stick tin. It's not just the paddle making removal difficult, the bread really sticks. It's nearly impossible to clean the tin without serious scouring as well.

Would be grateful for any advice!

i just got a load.the offers are from the price of 96p if i remember rightly.wholemeal @ our store is 1.09 and granary is 99p but all the prices were mixed up ( they had the wholemeal down as 65p!).when i got in i read the receipt and the granary is down as 92p ( which is wrong cos the offer wouldn't have applied).i dunno how the tills worked it out but i have 4 bags of wholemeal and 2 of granary and the whole lot cost me 2.39.got 2 boxes of yeast and checked the dates-but never with the flour and it's July.can't get over to the store ( not been for about 3 yrs) so no chance i could exchange it.will it be ok after the use by date???

Make sure you leave the loaf in the tin for 10-15 mins after cooking...but take the tin out of the breadmaker. that should make it easier. I made the mistake at first of trying to get it out immediately
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

    Thanks, I'll try that!
  • It seems it varies to not just the breadmaker brand but the mix you use as well because our Aldi Delta brand we take the bread out as soon as its finished baking with excellent results. We oil the paddle struts before use and it flys out!!!!!Very easy to clean the non stick pan after soaking for maybe 10mins as well. Mrs Happy
