Booking Youth Hostels with clubcard tokens

Has anybody tried this?

I know for membership, you need to (a) Exchange your clubcard vouchers for YHA tokens then (b) Send your YHA tokens by post to YHA, and they recommend special delivery (expensive)

However, if booking accommodation, has anyone done this? My understanding is you quote sokme number on the token over the phone. Do you then need to post the token, or can you just present it in person when you arrive?

I did this in the summer and you're right you send of your tesco vouchers, get the deal tokens back then phone the hostel you want to book. You just take the deal tokens with you, really easy.
We went down to cornwall and stayed in a tee-pee (?sp)

Friendly staff too, we had a lovely time
