I've lost my JSA booklet. Do i need it to sign on tomorrow?

As the title says, iv lost my book, i went to go and put all the jobs iv applied for in it and cant find it anywhere :(

I sign on tomorrow however so iv had no time to go down and get a new sign on book, i have a list of jobs iv applied so that im not worried about.

I'm more worried that they wont sign me on if i go without my book, i sign on at 9am and i am the first to be called. If i go down tomorrow and say iv lost my book, will i lose my JSA?

  • So long as you can take a list and show that you've been looking/applying for jobs it shouldn't matter (unless you have a right ****** of an adviser!)
  • Probably not if it's the first time, and you have a record of your job search activities. You may have to fill in additional forms and declaration.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • It is the first time, and my adviser would let me get away with murder, its the front desk im worried about, they ask for the booklet each time i go inside to sign on, i dont want them to keep me at the front desk while my adviser calls for me since im called in as soon as the centre opens.

You only have 1 option go and sign. Not going will stop the money, end of.

Get a woman to look for it, they have better eyes.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Umm... there are two different booklets you take for signing.

One is what was once the UB40, giving your signing time and NI number. That is the one that you hadn in at the front desk. If you forget it (I have done so before now) you can help the staff by giving them a piece of paper with your name and NI number: otherwise it is a bit inconvenient for them, but no big deal really.

The other booklet is the record of your job-search activities. What is important is that you demonstrate that you are looking for work, and if you record what you have done in a different way then that is fine.

    I am a woman :rotfl:

il just have to take my NI number with me and tell them the truth, and if they keep me at the desk for more than 1 minute il tell them im called by now.

    thanks for the help :)
  • I've never had to hand in a booklet at the front desk - maybe because I sign at a relatively small jobcentre.

Let us know how you got on.

BTW I've mislaid my jobsearch booklet before now - usually under a pile of papers/application forms/job details etc on my desk but I've always managed to find it in time to sign on.
