Hi all,
The mother-in-law needs a new laptop and has seen this in Sainsburys. Is anyone able to tell me if its value for money or if not point me in the direction of one for a similar price but better? I'm not to clever on the spec side of computing lol.
Toshiba Satellite C660D-1CV AMD E300 Processor 3GB/500GB 15.6" Black Laptop £299.99

I'd say its as good as anything your going to get for that price. Dont expect to be playing the latest games on it but its not a bad spec for the price. Any modern laptop will be plenty good enough for modern computing and its got a nice LED screen and a big hard disk so unless you want anything particularly specific i'd go for it0

What does she plan to use it for?0

just looking at websites and abit of youtube but not really downloading and definatly not gaming0

The E300 is pretty much AMD's entry-level dual core.
It should be fine for basic use, but don't be fooled by their special "down from £450" offer - £300 is about the right price for the spec.0 -
ooh that's my laptop

Careful though - the disk drive blew on mine after about 11 months and melted the side casing of the screen  It still works fine though, mine came from Currys and having worked for the Tech Guys I wasnt letting it anywhere near them!!! Its nearly 2 years old now and it still works ok apart from the disk drive. It has the odd hissy fit
but its basically fine - nice and easy to operate. *The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
