As most people know the new bmw mini's have some gearbox issues.
some of the websites offer a cheap replacement.
£499-£699 depending on which year.
One website in particular sources the gearboxes from yorkshire, owned by a rude, bully who offers a lower price is you pay cash as then he pays no VAT. Bonus you may be thinking, until of course after a couple of weeks the gearbox decides to start corroding from the inside.
Apparantly this is the customers fault and even looking at the car is then chargeable.
This site is minigearboxes.co.uk
They make out they give you a fantastic service they drop you in town so you can shop while they butcher your car and put one of their shoddily reconditioned gearboxes in. which after being examined by a proper gearbox expert has been found to not have replacement parts in but welded up broken parts from the previous problem.
Please dont make the same mistake as us and end up paying for it twice. this garage is in the coventry area.
the price is low as the quality is equally low. pay slightly more and hopefully you wont have to pay twice. try 3dtransmissions in Reading as they are the ones who sorted the problem.
