    The simple fact is you entered in to a contract whereby you knew you had to pay them each month, you fell behind with payments, they reported the facts to the credit reference agencies.

    The default and the fact they failed to update your address correctly are unrelated, you say you lost your job in July then moved in December - so presumably you stopped paying before you even moved address?

    I'm not having a go here, you lost your job and couldn't afford to pay - that's fair enough, these things happen. And now it's all sorted. So my suggestion would be to put it behind you and move on.
