Is it a good sign that they have now canceled my cc ppi?

As FeelStupid says, it means that you have told them you don't want it. If in your complaint you demanded a refund of PPI paid to date and the PPI to be removed with immediate effect then possibly. It's totally dependant on how you complained.
MBNA removed my PPI the month before they sent me a cheque, but they did exactly what I asked, as above
