    If you can find a farming fencing contractor, you'll probably get the job done much cheaper. Just specify sheep fence with 2 strands of high tensile barbed wire on top. That will keep many dogs in, but if it won't, due to breed size, you can fix plastic tensar type mesh to it. I do this for chickens.

    I don't know what a "really big" plot is, but I had 400 metres of field boundary done for less than you're quoting.

    Then, because sheep netting isn't pretty, you can plant a beech hedge in front of the fence if the sight offends you. Bare-root plants bought now are about 50p.

    Do the deeds detail a specification of the fencing you have to provide? This could make a big difference to the cost involved.
