Everyday loans are horrid!!!!!!

Ok, bottom line is, you can't get a loan if you are still in a DMP. You partner can probably get a loan in his own name, based on his own income though. If you've finished your DMP you may be able to get a loan at a ludicrous rate of interest that will mean £5000 costs you £10,000. This isn't anyone being harsh - it's the plain truth. There's a section of the boards devoted to cutting costs for weddings which you might find helpful if you can't raise enough for your dream scenario0

tax dogging?! why? because rather coming home after work he went to work another 4 hours?! what is wrong with you people?! dont point on me and my fiance! point on people who are on benefits and go and work cash in hands!!!0

thank you barbarawright. i will look up. I was only asking as when i have googled DMP and loan there were people on other forum who said, they managed to get loan.

bambus, seriously, I hope you've not been telling people about all this "extra work" your fella has been doing?
This could land him in a great deal of trouble. Tax dodging is a serious, jail time offence. He could end up doing bird, in the slammer, doing time in the chokey etc etc"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
we are not that stupid! dont worry! and not criminals at all! if you would have a childhood like we did and when you grow up you just want to have better life for your kids then you had, you would understand! we never been in benefit since we r here in UK at its over 10years! but yes, we started with cleaning toilets, being a sandwich maker! after 5years being here finally we reach to the level where we could have a decent job and salary! but had to go through hell! and now we are paying off ro it.is any of you having problem with it?! the only way for him to save up and have our special day was that he worked "cash in hand!" but since last year he had to stop as he had a very serious injury!0

Bambus, you just don't seem to get it. Working cash in hand is illegal. It only takes someone with a grudge against you, or someone who just wants to be nasty, to report him to the tax authorities, and he is real trouble. If he has had a serious injury, how will he work to pay the loan back. You have saved £5000 - well done. You can have a lovely wedding for £5000, and not be in further debt.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Yeah please get mad because people are telling you the truth which you'd rather not hear. You're not getting a loan while on a DMP. Dumb broad.0

as i said, he stopped last year. he works full time for a company, dont worry. he will not risk it any more. both of us work full time, but it was extra cash coming in.0

When I do extra work (or overtime they call it at my work) I get charged 40% tax on it. I am constantly skint to and have kids with a whole big sob story. Why should you get away with paying your taxes and I cannot. If I knew you address I'd be straight on to the HMRC.0
