reclaiming PPI from HBOS

Hi folks
I'm new to this but have been reading quite a few of the success stories with reclaiming PPI and interest so thought I'd give it a go.
A year ago I finally paid off a loan of £8084.22 (over 62 months) which I took out in 2005 to restructure a previous loan which had PPI on it. I don't have the paperwork for the original loan so have started by sending a £10 cheque with my request for all information on all loan agreements I've had with Bank of Scotland/Halifax.
Until I've heard back I won't know what to claim for but have already noticed on the paperwork that I do have for the latest loan that payments did not commence until 2 months after the agreement started - doesn't this already increase the interest due on the loan?
Any thoughts on this most welcome.
Thanks

Hi again folks
I sent a SAR letter to HBOS (as follows) on 6 February with a £10 cheque that they have cashed but I've heard nothing from them. Could someone please clarify who long they're legally allowed to take to answer?
Any help much appreciated.
thanks!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Current Account number: xxxxxxxx
I am writing to request copies of the full breakdown of all historical and current credit agreements I have had with Bank of Scotland (including terms & conditions that were applicable when I took out the loans) under sections 77−79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974, as I no longer have copies and would like to check some of the details
I understand it may incur a cost to collate historical information on loans that have now been repaid and therefore enclose a cheque for £10.
I look forward to a response within 12 working days.
Yours faithfully,0 -
Until I've heard back I won't know what to claim for
