Dell XPS L502X i7-2670, 750GB HDD, 4GB, 15.6" 1080P, 2GB GPU, Blu-Ray £661.57 @ Dell

Bear with me, but go through these steps as I have laid them out here:

Go to http://www.dell.co.uk/ (or go via Topcashback to claim 7.07% cashback first)
enter this value code in the search box: N00X5M06

If you're happy with the following spec....:

COLOUR CHOICE Metalloid Aluminum Cover
PROCESSOR 2nd generation Intel® Core™ i7-2670QM processor (2.20 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.10 GHz)
OPERATING SYSTEM English Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium (64 BIT)

HARD DRIVE 750GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive

....then add to basket and input these stackable codes: Q3QDMN6WGPZ9DG for 10% off
K9W01?K1BVSX2N for an EXTRA 8% discount (for Capital One card holders but appears to work for any type of card, though I personally would pay with my C1 card).

Price: £661.57 (remember to go through Top Cashback for an extra 7%, effectively taking the cost to £615.26). Also note this laptop comes with Adobe Elements 10 Bundle which you can sell on Ebay for an extra £50ish, though make sure to firstly deactivate the code when you receive the laptop.

I've added a couple of useful extras, the Backlit Keyboard and upgraded wireless 1030, which takes the price to £694.68 (£646.05 with cashback).

I recently bought a similar deal, but with 8gb ram rather than the 4gb on offer here and without Blu-Ray drive for a similar price. I sold the Adobe Photoshop bundle and thanks to the codes, cashback and selling the Photoshop software, the laptop effectively cost me just under £600. It's an absolutely fantastic laptop, does whatever I throw at it. Hope it helps someone and would be interesting what the MSE community think about this.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: For legal reasons codes are not permitted on the Grabbit board and have been moved. If in doubt please read this. • Hi, thanks for posting all the useful info - I was hoping to purchase a 17" XPS with similar specs to what you've posted, but the '10% off' deal has now expired :(

How often to these Dell deals crop up? I am guessing it's fairly frequently...

Hi Chris. Yes, the deals do crop up fairly regularly but I feel the recent deals have been this good due to it being the end of Dell's financial year and their need to make some sells. Sadly, I've not seen any really great deals for an XPS 17", which is what I was looking for but I knew one of the previous deals for a 15" model was too good so I went for that and, I have to say, I am very impressed with the laptop. Remember the codes you see above can be used for any model of XPS.

Hope you find something that suits your needs.
  • I wish I'd just gone for the deal yesterday!

End of financial year makes sense, I guess.

I would happily take an XPS 15 if they did a version with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M, but they only seem to do it with the GT 540M.

The only other option I can see is to purchase an XPS 17 from Dell Factory Outlet. However, none of them seem to come with a backlit keyboard. I guess it's a small sacrifice for a significant cost saving due to cosmetic damage on the battery casing...

    Thanks again for the info.
