Can a buckled alloy wheel be straightened?

Yup, aluminium is an element, and as such if that's all it is then it's not going to change in a hurry.
Pure aluminium is an element and it can change properties very quickly. Alloy wheels are what they say. Alloy. Aluminium alloy has different material content and consequently very different properties. When worked and or heated the micro structure changes and it's a highly skilled job to get it back to exactly how it was produced and something I doubt run of the mill wheel refurbishers can do. Load rates change, impact resistance changes etc etc etc. Personally if you get this done then I reccomend you use it as a spare get you home only.0 -
I had an alloy brought-back to shape, I was told 'drive carefully and get a new wheel asap'. Still going strong 6 months and 4k miles later. even passed an MOT. Never got round to getting a new wheel as was planning on replacing the car, but never had enough money to do it.Never Knowingly Understood.
