I had a call the other day from 01924800272, picked it up and there was someone on the other end (who knew my name - insurance co sold my details?), telling me that I could have an extended warranty on my car. He took the mileage, year and engine size and tried to sell me an extended warranty for £20/month which apparently covered damage to practically every part of the car.
I thought they were part of my insurance, and seemed interested until they asked for my bank details to "post out the documents".
Can't find any trace of the company anywhere searching for the phone no, just others that have had the same call.
Anyone took up the offer or is it a big fat scam?

DVLa might have sold your details.
have you advertised the car recently?
I had one muppett call to ask me about putting a warrenty on a car I was elling! He didn't seem to understand that I didn't want to spend 20 quid a month on a car I no longer owned!

I've just did a google search on the number and on other forums its coming up as being from a warranty insurance company based in wakefield.
Chances are your details have either been sold to them by your insurance company, OR they are a subsiduary of your insurance company.
I definitely wouldnt buy a used car warranty over the phone though - they will always sound fantastic but will have many exclusions. Check out the main players in this arena if you really want a warranty.0 -
These types of warranties are excellent for covering anything on your car that DOES NOT wear out or BREAK.
If it doesnt wear or break then it "maybe" covered, Subject to terms and conditions and policy excess of course.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Might be selling a Nationwide Autocentres warranty. They called me some time ago.
Have you had your car repaired with them in the last few years?
The warranty itself is poor value compared to others I was looking at.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I haven't had my car repaired by them recently, which makes me think that the insurers have sold my details. Will look around, I'm really not comfortable giving out my details on cold calls."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
