we stopped at a hotel called whynns just of the main street, lovely rooms and breakfast was amaizing.
the hotel was just in the right location as there was no noise from pubs or anything.
hope you enjoy your stay.0 -
I'd recommend doing a search on venere.com - really helpful website with lots of good maps/reviews, and reasonable prices too (which you also don't have to pay in advance)
Plus for 4% off, use code: BK5HX8W
I think it's a good idea to check out this website even if you find hotels cheaper elsewhere, as the descriptions and maps are generally better than other sites in my opinion.
Hope that helps0 -
Cheers for that. I'll have a browse around. I'm thinking of booking 2 weeks before to see if I can get any last minute deals. I would love to be able to afford to stay at The Clarence. Who knows, I might win the lottery before then.

Having stayed in Dublin a number of times I would recommend Jury's Inn Croke Park (4*) if you can get a good price for it (usually around E99-120 a night) or Radisson SAS St Helens Hotel (around E140) - there are some bad reviews on Tripadvisor for the Radisson but our stay was very nice (although we did get upgraded to a suite).
Have a good trip!0 -
Having been to Dublin 6 times now and stayed in various locations, I would definately recommend WYNNS.
Check out their website - https://www.wynns.ie
Very handy location. Lovely place Dublin.
For a special meal in the evening, I would recommend also going to Temple Bar -

definitely recommend clifton court hotel (cliftoncourthotel.ie). Its at the bottom of O'Connell St overlooking the liffey. stayed there three times for around £50-60 a night inc breakfast
hope this helps0 -
Cheers mate
I was looking at this one while trawling. What is brilliant is that I can book via Quidco with 12% cashback. Groovy. Will book as soon as First Direct cough up the cash.
Then 2 Scousers are let loose, with me being a big U2 fan. Maybe I should warn the local police force

Heya Money Savers,
I'm having trouble finding somewhere nice and reasonably priced in Dublin (for my ryanair freebie weekend). Can anybody help?
We're staying 20-24th September (including sat/sun hence the price hike...) and have a budget of about 300 pounds including breakfast. we want a double room somewhere in the city!

Hi
I eventually stayed at The Gresham Hotel which I booked via www.hoteldirect.co.uk. It cost £240 for 2 of us including a yummy breakfast. The hotel was right in the centre of Dublin and easy to find from the bus station. It was 4 stars too, marble pillars, al a carte menu, the full works. Plus, we were given a free upgrade to executive rooms which were superb. Fully recommended.
If you want full on luxury stay at The Clarence. It is beautiful and recommended. Very pricey though.
If you don't like it noisy don't stay near Temple Bar area at all. It is full of hen/stag parties etc.
Hope this helps. We had a fab time. I'd also recommend the Tourist open top bus. It's 14 euros for a 24 hour ticket and you can get on and off as much as you like. I didn't like the Guiness Storehouse. Thought it was a complete rip off for what it was. Also had to queue for hours to get in.
If you want a good restaurant there is a Spanish one just off Temple Bar and it's fab. Can't remember the name unformtunately.
I'd go back again as didn't have time to see everything. Enjoy yourselfLightbulb moment 2/1/07First Direct £2500 loan
