Hi
I've just received in the post today a notice from a private company asking for payment of 50.00 by today otherwise it goes up to 70.00 tomorrow and will increase by another 40.00 if not paid within another amount of days! I was not aware of this 'offence' prior to today - this 'offence' took place approximately 7 weeks ago and was on a Retail Park
Any advice appreciated

Ignore them and the next few letters from them. They will soon give up.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Ignore them and read the top sticky thread 'PPC letters & threats'.
Once you have seen the preview of all the letters 'your' PPC will bombard you with and know that they are just computerised templates - like a series of phishing emails trying to extort money from you - I am sure you will see this scam for what it is. And don't miss the Watchdog link on that thread by Crabman too.
Only mugs or uninformed people pay fake PCNs; you are neither.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi
I've just received in the post today a notice from a private company BEGGING for payment of 50.00 by today otherwise THEY WILL BEG FOR 70.00 tomorrow and will increase THE BEGGING by another 40.00 if not GIVEN within another amount of days! I was not aware of this INCIDENT' prior to today - this 'INCIDENT' took place approximately 7 weeks ago and was on a Retail Park

Fixed that for you. Ignore it!0 -
Don't phone or write to them under any circumstances whatever. The less response they have from you, the sooner they will realise they are on a loser and go away.
They will probably tell you hanging is being restored for people who don't pay. I can re-assure you that it's not true.0 -
This is a complicated scam that impersonates authority.
basically you have been given an "invitation" that invitation has invited you to pay a private invoice
.
If you Ignore the invitation there is not a lot they can do other than impersonate other types of authority such as debt collectors and solicitors, send a series of letters full of threats and then they move on and look for another mug.
Treat it no differently than any other mail scam, such as Canadian lottery wins.
IGNORE, Stay Ignoring and beware of character changes in the shenanigans as the goon changes hats from scary parking authority to solicitor to debt collector to expert on the law.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
