Hi
We have a Vokera Combi boiler which is approx 5 years old and would like to following:
Service to the boiler
A wireless thermostat fitted - Honeywell?!? ( I am happy to supply this if needed)
Also balancing/set up of the full system as a couple of the radiators are only lukewarm/cold even after bleeding and my OH is not comfortable with how the system works. These radiators are ones that have been added on recently when our loft was converted.
Could somebody give me an idea of how long the above would take and and idea of price in the North West area.
Many thanks
xx

Services start (in my area) from £45 approx up to £85 approx. Depends on how regularly you have had it serviced previously.
Fitting a Wirefree stat I would guess about £45 approx labour, depends on the ngineer and what he charges I guess.
Balancing your central heating maybe a little trickier. Rule of thumb, you shouldn't run more than 3 average sized rads off a run of 15mm pipe as this causes problems in that set of rads. If you're lucky an RGI may manage to balace them out sufficiently, otherwise you could end up with a couple of rads not getting warm due to poor planning on the part of whoever installed the new rads. Cost again depends on hourly rate and any problems encountered.0 -
Many thanks for your advice.
Could anybody recommend a reliable wireless stat, at the moment I am running up and down to the boiler contolling manually. There is many to choose from on the net but I would prefer to pay a bit more if it is going to be reliable. Also are these interchangeable if the boiler was to need replacing. My OH is convinced it will need replacing soon even though it has never let me down once! I had it fitted before I met him and he is convinced it is rubbish :rotfl:
Many thanks again for your help

Sounds like your OH will die of worry before your boiler gives up the ghost.ladymarmalade222 wrote: »My OH is convinced it will need replacing soon even though it has never let me down once!
