New single storey extension bewteen two existing brick walls?

I am thinking of buying a house which has a single storey, flat-roofed kitchen extension. The neighbours also have a single-story extension and there is a 'square' of about 8' by 10' between them. I wondered whether it would be possible to fill in this space with a single storey extension comprising a glass roof and a wall of glass doors on the exterior, with the two extension walls, mine and the neighbours, forming the side walls? Not sure if I have to build a separate wall next to the neighbour's? I would like an opening between where the large dining room window was but realise this may have to have a glass door? Also, how much would it cost?
