What a badly worded email - grammar all over the place. Not very professional.

What a useless waste of a post!
It's his snide joke w.r.t. this post about payday loan propagandists who work this forum.

  • I'm in a similar situation with Minicredit. The other 7 (yes I know) payday lenders I'm with have been willing to help (to a greater or lesser degree depending on the company) but Minicredit have no intention of helping at all. I beleive they are based abroad (possibly India) despite what it says on their website so the beleive that the Uk laws dont apply to them.
  • Similar situation here - I had several payday loans (not planned) and defaulted on all of them.
All but one MINICREDIT froze interest and charges and let me pay weekly instalments and now half of them are cleared and I only have four more left to pay off and they should be cleared in next 4-6weeks

Pleased to say that despite those that are paid off now offering me more money loans......... but I have resisted

MINICREDIT have refused to be flexible - so now instead of paying back £250 the balance is now over £1000.
i have emailed and posted means assessments and proposed payments but get met with standard email response and no response to the recorded deliveries which included print outs of all previous correspondence.

i had threats of doorstep collection - advised them that they had no permission to set foot on my property and that they would be trespassing . but got no reply and no doorstep collection

The means assessment was sent as they requested and again no response

Found an article on the BBC website and sent them a copy too ;-)

Latest correspondence was 'last letter before legal action' sent on 26th April and heard nothing since.

I have offered to pay back the loan plus two months interest - as they did state any reasonable offer would be accepted.... but they have declined to respond.

I refuse to pay by card or direct debit as i don't trust them not to take more than an agreed payment. Instead I asked them to provide banking details so that I can pay by standing order... they declined as they do not give out bank details (although they were happy to have mine when I applied for the loan)

My credit rating is negative so whatever they threat about that won't make much difference.

I am not overly concerned as i have kept all copies of email and postal correspondence and have made several offers but they are the ones being obstructive.
By the end of July Minicredit will be the only company I have to settle with and I hope never to fall into the trap of payday loans again as it's a never ending circle.

So waiting to see what their next move is.

Has anyone won their corner and managed to settle without the extortionate charges and interest?

I think we can be sure that every single borrower on this thread took out at least one PDL with absolutely no intention or means to repay it according to the terms it was lent to them on!

So its OK these days to take out X number of loans then it all comes on top expect the people they owe to say "No problem, pay us £1 a week for the next 10 years"
  • I have no sympathy for those who take out a Pay Day Loan with no intention of paying it back, but neither do I have sympathy with these sharks that can make a £200 loan into a £1000 debt in a few weeks.

I feel that as your credit is already shot, you should let them take you to court and throw yourself at the mercy of the Judge, telling him what you have told us. If he thinks like most sensible people, he will throw out the £800 interest/fees.

Even if he doesn't, you're no worse off than you are now. But at least the interest and fees will stop and you can offer a payment you can afford.
"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock
  • You are wrong... I work full time and ALWAYS intended on paying back these loans.
When I took out the first payday loan I paid it back on the due date.

It wasn't ideal but I reloaned and took out other payday loans for various reasons and paid them back.

Unfortunately my daughter was ill, my father-in-law died suddenly and my car had a major engine problem all in quick succession which meant I was unable to work the extra shifts I had booked in order to pay the loans as I HAD planned.

Since then it became a never ending circle of taking out new loans to pay off other ones that were due.

I have NEVER avoided these loans and contacted them immediately to explain my situation and arrange payment plans.

How dare you assume I did not intend to pay!!!

Needless to say MINICREDIT just won't be flexible at all despite my offers to make payments

I hope linking to other places isn't against the rules here, but there's another forum with a huge amount of information about how to handle Minicredit (and other payday lenders) which I've found very useful in the past. Lots of good advice on there. This is the link to the Minicredit specific subforum.

Good luck with sorting it out - they do seem to be the worst of the worst.
