help please!! Mini credit

Okay so i've had a few payday loans and am on track to sorting them all out myself. Although obviously as i've come to find Mini credit are not very helpful!
I've sent them an email or two and just keep getting the same automated messages back saying they are not interested in payment plans etc.

Here's the main problem though, i had a loan with them for £140 although i only actually got £125 as they took £15 as a fast payment fee although i did not ask for this, (it said it would be an option)
I was due to pay them back £190 odd on the 18th of January. It's now the 7th of feb and this is an email i recieved today.

Dear XXXXXXXX

We would like to remind you that your MiniCredit overdue loan balance is £431.40.

If we are unable to recover full amount within next 10 days we'll send Your account to THE DOORSTEP COLLECTOR and You will incur extra costs.

We may also contact Your employer and start legal action against You. We also report the status of Your outstanding account to Credit reference agencies. All this process affects your credit score adversely and ability to receive credit in the future.

Best regards

Can someone please just give me some advice and let me know if they can actually do what they are threatening?
I actually can't believe that they sent me this in an E-mail?!!

Please help .:|

  • It would be a breach of the Data Protection Act if they were to reveal any of your details to your employer (unless, of course, you have acknowledged that they may do so by agreeing to their terms and conditions). Everything else - they can do.

What a badly worded email - the grammar is all over the place. Not very professional.

What a useless waste of a post! The person is asking for advice, it's not a legal document, also, he is writing a post, not an email, and finally, if anything, the post is poorly written, rather than badly written.

Think you need to get either a life, post something useful or log off!

  • Sorry about my first post, i had just read that email off them and my head was all over the place.
Thinking a bit more clearly now...

So to answer your question. No i didn't repay them i am in the middle of setting up payment plans with all my creditors, so i was trying to do the same with them. They reply to all emails with an automated email saying they aren't interested and are not going to help me basically.

And bbfc, i wasn't sure if you meant my post was badly worded or Minicredit's email lol?

All I really want to know is that if anyone else has been in the same situation with Minicredit?
Or if anyone can give me any advice on how to deal with them and their so called 'doorstep collectors' i would be more than greatful.
    Thanks :)

Is there no other way of contacting them other than email? Have you googled them to see if they are mentioned elsewhere on the web?

Otherwise, you really need to start paying them at least something. At least then you can prove you are making an effort to pay them should they take you to court. The longer you leave it without meaningful contact or payment the more interest and charges they will put on.

Oh and I believe bbfc was referring to the email from Minicredit. That's how I read it anyway.

Nothing to stop them sending a doorstep collector, but understand their powers.... They have none.

They aren't bailiffs, they cannot force entry, they cannot take goods. They can do nothing apart from knock on your door and ask for payment, nothing more.

If you see a burly thug, simply don't answer. If you do and you feel threatened, call the 5-0.

Stop emails it's not working and the longer it goes on the worse it becomes, if you can bear the good old fashioned way, send a written letter of complaint - head it 'formal complaint'
post it 2nd class recorded delivery if you can so you get proof of delivery to at least

Then complain to higher - eg. Financial Ombudsman and Office of fair Trading (media is available to you to) because as you probably know the payday loan world is under the microscope for exactly this type of behaviour and getting quite a bit of press, lets hope something gets done
