Is it worth claming back my PPI?

After finally finding my paper work for a small loan I took out in 2006, I saw I was sold PPI as part of the loan agrement, I am just about to start following the Lloyds TSB checklist for claming back my PPI but have noticed on my loan agrement that I actually accepted/asked for (which I cant remember really doing) the PPI. the wording used is:
"Your demands and need
you told me that you need to make sure you could continue to meet your loan commitment in the event of your unemployment or your disability through accident or sickness, and that your loan would be repaid in the event of your diagnosis with a critical illness, or in the event of your death without this reducing the amount you would otherwise leave to your beneficiaries"
I am a complete newb to anything PPI, any help would be great.
Im not sure it matters but during this loan period I actually got the sack from my job, tried to claim due to me not being able to pay the monthly instalment but was refused due to me being sacked from my job!
