Napster services are being transferred to Rhapsody mid March which means that I lose my 5 free downloads and streaming. It was a great deal, hey ho. Could anyone explain what this means in context, how do you save streaming tracks (legally) to play offline (MP3 player?).

Q: Why will Napster not continue to offer MP3s?
A: In our efforts to create the best possible unlimited music service we need to streamline the number of features we offer. Unfortunately the removal of MP3 downloads is one of them as more of our users are streaming tracks and saving them to play offline rather than downloading MP3s. We expect this trend to continue and hope that our MP3 store customers will try our new unlimited services.

From what is states on the site such a facility won't be available until after the changes take place in March.
Q: If I want to use the new offline playback feature in the software client with Napster Unlimited plus Mobile – should I upgrade now?
A: No, this feature will only be available after the relaunch in March 2012. If saving tracks to play offline is important for you please stay in your existing plan until the relaunch and upgrade afterwards.0 -

Looking for a new music provider, just tried Spotify, I was taken by surprise that my whole Napster library was shown in their library, spooky. I am not keen on the Facebook link but the free version is well, free
where do the adverts kick in, I have not heard any so far.

Like most in their early twenties, Napster was the way to listen to music in the nineties. More often than not, especially before the iPod and MP3 players became affordable, you would go and buy music from a store anyway. Unfortunately, timing was not on Napster's side otherwise I believe they may have been what iTunes is today.0
