Xbox 360 Surround Sound Issues!!!!

Hello, please help as i am confused about surround sound for my 360!. I currently have a Sony 5.1 Surround sound kit which does not have a optical input, so i cant attach my 360 to it. It has a very good dvd player in it and currently i currently use it to play dvds and have surround soound for my TV and SKY.
I am looking to buy the HD-DVD add-on for the 360 and am unsure whether i need to buy a new speaker set and use the HD-DVD as my primary dvd player. Do i need to buy a SPeaker set with a component thing, or can i just but a componet which manages all my surround sound as is, and simply connect my dvd player and tv and 360 to this component thing.! as i also want surrond sound for my TV and my Sky box. PLease help if you have any idea on Surround Sound because i am confused about what i need to buy!!!.

this could mean the right and white this means that you can contact coxia from the TV to the sur-round system. You may what to thing about a switch box to switch scart or compone and have the sound from them to the sound system.

but how can the 360 be connnected, as i have a straight forward component from the 360 to the back of the TV. I was thinking whether there is like a component box, where all your devices attach to, (TV, DVD player, SKY, 360) and then the component box manages all of the sound. The sound would then be able to come through my speakers at th moment?

There is one, my bro was looking at one. He has a scart one costed him over £65 but its good.

but....

I used to use a scart block which used to do my surround sound, but a regular block will degrade my picture quality as now i have a HD box. If i simply use a scart i wont get HD from from 360. Is there a HD compatible componet/scart block thing??

oh thanks very much... i now realise that it is only the audio connectors that go into that box. thanks very much for your help... it is much appreciated... I will wait for my paypal balance to grow a bit then i will buy that one... MNany Thanks Matey!!
