He came to day to seek possession of the goods, only reason he didn't is because I was there so he have us 24hrs grace to raise the £1077 pounds To enable the rest to be payed by installments...
Hubster has been given this as a loan from family in this last hour. Should we still pay and can we get it returned to the council if we pay?
He was noting the dvd's down as he came up the stairs not sure what onto, and the sofas the first guy added as surplus to requirements as we have a few other mis matched comfy seats.
Thank you so much for your help x0 -

I do, i hear, i,m not trying to be obtuse but I am frightened.. I am scared I have never been in this position before and I don't really understand all of this I'm trying to get a grasp of this as it came as a shock to me today..
I promise you I am not trying to be difficult for the sake of it.0 -
Right
You need some additional help, both tonight and tomorrow.
I want you to get all the documents that you can together and to phone either CCCS or national debt line tonight - at least one is open until 9pm.
Because if hallowitch says
There are very few other people here who do understand.I'm not getting this adding goods to the levy thing and perhaps we are getting confused over the notice of distress and walking possession agreement thing
I will post the links in a mo.
You also need to e-mail rossendales tonight and inform them that some of the goods are not yours.
And you need to go on-line and find out who your local councillor is.
Believe me bailiffs are bullies and bailliffs lie through their front and back teeth at the same time.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Aw Pinkcrimson, you sound all over the place.
Sit down, have a cup of tea, write a list of what you need to do. Do it now, and you will sleep easier.
First, you need to email the bailiff, and see if you can come up with a payment plan without paying the huge lump sum.
Once apon a time, I had bailiffs a few times at my house, and they have done exactly what you are going through, but I can tell you they didn't seize any goods, as an agreement to pay was made.
A friend recently went through similar, and they did the same. If you are late, or miss a payment though, this means, the bailiffs will be straight back. Unfortunately they are like hounds on a scent. Some are quite nice, and many can be very threatening.
Back then I had PND myself, and I was offered more leniency as I had small children and they had a "duty of care" (the council.) I am hoping the council will look on you favourably, but I cannot guarantee it.
In the mean time do that list of action points and start making some headway into the list...xx0 -
Great sound advice RAS! x0

Actually if the Op has PND, the Council are required to call off the bailliffs but the OP needs a letter from her doctor confirming this.
if that is possible, then the Op needs to e-mail Rossendales and the Council and her local Councillor ASAP.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I think if she turned up at the GP first thing, and really stressed how important it was, someone would get her a letter typed up. GP's can be a bit of a pain, but in urgent sitations they tend to come up trumps.
Like I said, I have had the council take the debt back from the bailiffs once they knew I had PND, especially once they were told it was part of their duty of care.
You will be alright love, stay calm.0
