I am afraid that it must be ingrained as I forgot I had even read that!

    Oh the irony eh?

  • yeh but was there a need to post on this thread?what happened happened 2 days ago it is over now.

And you have asked for advice which would be well answered by someone who is an employment law specialist.

The sad thing is you don't even know what the relevance is, do you?

You know what I said the other day about letting sleeping dogs lie?

Let it have a kip, Brett. A good, long sleep.

I didn't say ONLY barristers were of any use.

To be fair - it made a change from 'I googled it and found it in 10 seconds but have taken time out of my day, for free, to post a link for you that you could have found in the time it took for you to type out your thread title'.

    But anyhoo.

it does help if you know what you are googling *for*

and clearly I have too much spare time so don't object to the free bit :)

we do have some other experienced posters though, and I for one would not wish to denigrate their contribution with eternal cries of "oh, but it's not quite as good as..."

Sometimes the queries are simple and need simple answers.

Sometimes other posters have relevant experience.

I think asking for advice that has a legal slant or implication is perhaps different to asking for the best place to buy cheap soap powder or how to best write a covering letter for a job, Often people come to the boards as they are really troubled by their situation and don't know where to turn and cant afford legal advice, and whilst advice is given generously by people with good will when there are legal implications I know I would like to think there is credibility in the responses and what better than coming from an expert with that legal speciality knowledge? With any speciality the devil is in the detail and a little knowledge is a dangerous thing
Dont wait for your boat to come in 'Swim out and meet the bloody thing' ;)

My point was that someone was asking for specific legal advice, which could have been given very specifically by someone who they themselves drove away - ie the irony of the question in the first place.

Not all my answers will include references to this situation ;)
