Quickest way to defrost a frost free fridge?

I have a frost free fridge in my garage which because of the cold has started to frost up.
Phoned up the manufacturer but this is not covered as all it needs is for it to be swiched off and defrosted as it is too cold for the automatic defrost to do its job.
So I need a quick way of defrosting it considering the garage is currently minus 3 degrees C.
Any suggestions other than heat the garage or move it into the house?

Disconnect and empty (contents should be fine - as is -given the cold snap we are experiencing). Get container(s) of hot water and place inside the fridge then close the door and wait (keep in mind that as the frost melts it will turn to water (obviously) so something to mop up will be handy). Keep checking the progress and renew the hot water as necessary. Once frost has gone clean up and reconnect/reload.0

I would recommend not using any electrical device to create a pool of water .Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

It won't be so much fun if you trip a one-shot safety stat. They are used on a few machines.
Or, if you get moisture into the electrics. Mains electric current and water rarely play well together.
So I'd start with finding out what the machine is, as in make and model and go from there on offering the best advice.
Although, with some fridge freezers, you'd do well enough with the flamethrower.

I use my Earlex steamer without the wallpaper plate on the end of the steam hose. Just wear gloves to minimise the risk of scalding yourself. Steamers are built to mix electricity and water safely!
I usually wait until I am about to do a towels wash, dump the towels in front of the freezer, do the defrost, and then just put the wet towels into the washing machine. Saves a lot of clearing up.0
