How do you remove vocals from tracks?

Wondered if anyone could help. My friend is getting married in the summer and wants a couple of instrumental tracks played at the wedding. The tracks aren't readily available instrumental and was wondering if I could possible remove the vocals using any sort of software. Just tried to use winamp vocal remover and this was useless. Sounded like it was underwater and the vocals were still there.

If anyone could possibly give me some advice then my friends wedding will be superb.

You can't do magic with any software, it depends on how the vocals are mixed, as to whether it will work or not.

I'm sure there is a site where you can order tracks without the vocals - my friend did that for her wedding. Will get in touch and ask her. I seem to remember she ordered a few tracks on cd and a friend sang to one of the tracks at the registry office.
