Sorry for the long post.
On 25th May 2006 I bought a Toshiba Portege M400 Tablet PC from Savastore.com after the DVD-RAM going and sending it to Toshiba to get fix the PC was ok then in November time I started to notice this imprints, after paying out over £1,300 am not going to harm it. There is dust under the screen, imprints on both screen and keyboard/touchpad area. And the Memory Stick reader is not working.
Of course Toshiba Repair Centre says that everything is working and the imprints and the dust under the screen is normal wear and tear. Hold on a minute I have used the Tablet fuctionaly for less then 1 hour and if the screen is a sealed unit how can dust get in.
3 weeks later,
Today I got my Tablet and looked at it quickly first think I noticed was the Toshiba logo damage, yes am that sad but, that is Toshibas logo surely you would think that they will take care of it. Then the Portégé logo is also damage again take care. Then it was getting tested pluged in a USB drive "Flash" on the two side ports and guest what it hangs down, so that could go. Then I noticed that the cover for the screen screws where stranger looking like they were bend so my eyes just go straight to that. Then the might Intel and Designed for Windows XP stickers are gone. No way, yet again me being sad but I like theses stickers and on ebay they cost £5 each.
Yes more faults so I contacted Toshiba on 019 number cheaper then a 0870 number (https://www.saynoto0870.com) and the first rep say ok you will have to ring xxx. I rang that number "o we cant do anything unless you have a call refernce number, you have to talk to tech suppot, do u want me to put you thou" ok
This rep ask and I opened with the biggest poor me and how could you statement aka the toshiba logo is damage so anyone that see it will think not to get a laptop from them. Anyway it when on and I explained every little detail about it. I forgot to add about that am 20 and would upgrade every 3 years and the fact that I go to a college. He when on and said that I will log this for customer services to contact you to sort it out. But he when at the begining that what do you want to do book it in for repair (for more time to go down the drain) or log it with customer services of course I wanted it going via cs to get sorted out quickly.
So I need some advice about how to deal with this
I bought the M400 off savastore.com which now is taken over and I paid using a visa credit card. What are my options.

   I bought a Toshiba Laptop from Dixons (now Currys) in Dec 2005. I paid £169 for 3 years warranty. The machine was fine for first few weeks but after that it stopped charging the battery. I noticed that the power port at the back of laptop got loose which later totally came off from the motherboard. I called Currys and they collected the laptop after 3 days of my call. It took 9 days to repair it.
After that repair I had to send my laptop 3 more times for the same problem. When I received the laptop after third attempt of repair it was full of scratches and marks, the Windows XP, Intel, Toshiba logo stickers were taken off and tried to stick back in a very unprofessional way. The sound drivers were uninstalled, and the problem with the battery and power port was still there. I could not believe that they can do such a nasty thing. I called Curry CS and they said its not their fault and I have to contact repair company. Well its not my responsibility to contact third parties. I called repair company who arranged another collection of laptop and promised to give me the new laptop if they cant fix the fault.
Long story short after waiting 12 days I received my old laptop back with new casing and new stickers on. Its working fine for the last 3 months.
Thanks Goodness I paid for 3 years cover otherwise I feel sorry for those people who buy stuff from these nasty and unprofessional retailers without paying extra for warranty.  :money: Doubling of debt equals ’stabilising this financial problem’. This new definition is very handy. Blood pressure doubled in 12 months? Don’t bother treating it, it’s stable! Tumour size doubled? Don’t worry about that cancelled op, your tumour’s stable! Think of the savings that can be made!:money:0
