I'm living with my worst romantic memory, I have to ask myself do I really want to stay in this unhappy partnership, he's having a hard time emotionally & I cannot appear to be selfish, each time I think I’ve overcome my disappointment & try to adapt a new mind set, remind myself it’ll be ok, just give him some time, he then says or does something that makes me think is this really worth all this doubt, am I living a lie.........my worst romantic memory is live.
Get out NOW!
It is not going to change!
It is not going to get better!
you will just get more used to it and more accepting and more defeated as you get older.....then you will never ever ever get out...
so please DO IT NOW0 -

The first warning signs were that he hated everything!
Me: What do you like to do when you're not working?
Him: Nothing, sleep. I'm always working.
Me: I love traveling, I've just got back from volunteering in an orphange in Thailand.
Him: I hate foreigners, went to Spain once, full of 'em.
We were going to see a film. The film was Bi-centenial Man, which was like pulling teeth, he fell asleep, snoring and flung an arm around me! I couldn't abandon him as it was miles from home!
I dropped him off afterwards, and he said "That didn't go too well did it Amanda?"
"No, not really and my name isn't Amanda!"
At least he had the grace to blush!
My apologies, silly me got the dates wrong, Amanda was Monday :rotfl:0 -
Wow some of these are quite serious for what I presumed would be a lighthearted topic on the forum. Some harsh replies too. I think Relate might be more appropriate for discussing some of these issues.0

This happened to a mate but worth sharing.
She was going out with a widow who had a young daughter and after they had been seeing each other for about 8 months he asked her to dinner at a very fancy restaurant and said he had something important to say. She ofc was expecting a proposal. He said "You know how I told you I want to find someone to settle down with, and be a family with? Well I've thought about it and you're not the one."
She actually sat through the rest of the meal AND kept dating him for a year after! I'd have shoved that fancy meal in his face and walked.0 -
My ex gave me a book on Nostradamus for our first Valentines together. Apparently sometime in the previous 11 months I had mentioned in passing that I thought he was quite interesting. I stupidly kept dating him for another year!!!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
