Santander Online banking

Morning, All. I have been registered for online banking with Santander for some months and today I needed to make a payment for them. I am now informed that I need to register for a OTC -one time code - which will be sent to my mobile. Trouble is, my mobile is about 10 years old and lives in the top drawer of my cabinet, never being used. Reception is impossible where I live - I have to walk down the road about 1/2 mile to get any signal! Surely there is some other way of making payments without having to go to town during office hours? I only started using them as at the time Cahoot weren't doing faster payments - they are now. Never had any trouble with Cahoot, perhaps i'll just stick with them. Have messaged Santander, so any suggestions or am I stuck with it?

  • You only need the 'One-Time-Passcode' for setting up new payees. You can use telephone banking or a branch to set up a new account if you do not have (or use) a mobile phone.

Once the account is set up, you do not need the OTP for making subsequent payments .
