EDF DD saga continues
The other day, a man came to read my meters, so I figured I would see what happened. Sure enough, I get a bill stating my DD will increase to £135 - my account is still in credit.
So, from the £100 I set it at last May, they have tried to increase to to £107, £123, £117 and £135. Each time I've had to phone them up and an apologetic member of staff has put it back to £100. Today, the lady who answered went away and calculated it should be £80. She even offered to set it at that, but could not offer an explanation as to how £135 was reached, except that it would use estimated usage as they don't have a year of actual.
I sent a letter of complaint to them last December 5. Never had a reply and there is no record on my account of any written complaint - there is now!
By the end of my current contract in September, I calculate I will be £245 in credit. Suppose I'll have to fight to get that back when I leave.

You may have been aware of a campaign to expose Eon's DD policy as being unfair and in contravention of SLC27.
One of Ofgem's Senior Policy Managers is viewing that other thread and it is becoming clear that EDF also fundamentally breach SLC27 by not providing clear and understandable information to explain the DD increase.
Ofgem introduced and have recently reissued guidance on DD obligations for Suppliers. Suppliers are totally disregarding those requirements.

For a long time EDF have excused themselves for awful customer service because of their new IT system. It doesn't rub any longer.
You should also provide details of this ongoing debacle to Consumer Direct.0 -
Thanks backfoot, posted a link.
