Hotel Deposit ...

Hi all ... just looking for some advice ...

My bf and I have got a holiday to Portugal planned for May, but from looking at the hotel website I have noticed that they require your credit card details on check in as a deposit for any breakages ... the only trouble is we are both 21 and uni students and neither of us have a credit card and now I don't know what to do ...

The travel agent in the shop didnt mention this ... would they need to? ... as I don't know if it might be if you book with the hotel directly ... should I open up a credit card just incase? ... This is our first holiday abroad without our parents so I don't know what we should do ... any advice will be greatly appreciated, thanks xx

i'd call the travel agent, its possible that they can arrange to pay a cash deposit on arrival

Thank you poppy_f1 ... im so silly I didnt think of that ... I was worrying that if we turned up out there with no credit card then they would demand a cash deposit ... and then i'd be left without spending money lol ... i think ill try and check with the travel agent this weekend ... thanks again x

If you are both in Uni then you could both apply for credit cards from your banks to take with you.
