    I've been Money Tipped!
Just want to add the thought of the flight is far FAR worse than the reality of the flight.

We took our then 15 month old to New Zealand and he was just like he was at home. Played, cried, slept, filled nappies...including 1 that leaked brown stuff all down his leg.

the staff were really helpful, letting him get his food before we got ours and it all worked how it should have done. So enjoy it!
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
  • we're heading to OZ in 3months with our son, just turned 2 at least he'll get his own seat, but it's gona be an experiance lol
  • My mind is a little bit more and ease now, he's quite good most of the time but i'll just have to try the lollipops etc i know that sucking things can help pop your ears especially on landing (even though im totally against sugary things, needs must though! lol)

I got his passport done the other day, i thought how the hell am i going to get him in a booth.. Klick stores can do them with a camara though so it wasn't so bad, he had a cheesey smile, im surprised they accepted it.

They didin't get his DOB right so i had to send it back, i was livid. How can they manage to get such an important piece of information wrong? Especially at the prices £45 plus £7 checking fee
Baby number 2 due April 2010, were having a girl!!! :j

Good post as we are about to fly for the 1st time on Thursday with our baby daughter who is 3 and a half months- only short flight thanksfully

    Thanks for all the tips
  • Not a money saving tip, but definitely a sanity saving tip.

Buy a seat for your toddler, take along your car seat and secure your toddler, to the seat (which is secured to the plane by the lap belt) and Bobs your Uncle.

It will cost you a few quid, but its worth every single penny.

  • A couple of points which I don't think have been mentioned.

Try and take those individual sachets of calpol just in case your child feels unwell, they are very easy and clean to use. If you are allowed to take them that is!

Also don't let your child stand on your knee/seat and irritate the people behind. It's cute for a little while but then other passengers will begin to become irritated.

Little toys as mentioned are a good idea, but if you wrap them, then they will be more engaging and take longer to open, so the magic lasts a bit longer.

Also planes seem to be either too hot or too cold, so layers of clothing are a good idea.
