That is what I am thinking sometimes too, he had 2 long periods of cage rest....0

I've used the RVC in Herts a few times - Queen Mother hospital. I'd rate it very highly. Some of the vets have differing degrees of bedside manner, but all were experts and you *knew* you'd taken your pet to the best place. The students are a little more variable than that in skills and manner, but they are students after all. I also liked the fact that, because the vet was explaining to the students the precise nature of the problem, etc., you got the benefit of a very clear explanation yourself.
They've redone the waiting area in the last few years, so it might be better than a previous poster's experience of it.
Our dog has had 3 or 4 stays (mainly overnight, one of a few days), and the RVC would be my first choice if she ever needed to be referred for anything again. Expert staff, non-profit pricing (though the nature of the treatment means it will be expensive), and helping educate future vets.0
